Although Nagra, the National Cooperative for the Disposal of Radioactive Waste, hereinafter referred to as Nagra, exercises the utmost care to ensure the accuracy of the information published, no guarantee can be given regarding the correctness, accuracy, timeliness, reliability or completeness of this information.

Nagra expressly reserves the right to modify, delete or temporarily refrain from publishing content, in whole or in part, at any time without prior notice.

Any liability claims against Nagra for material or immaterial damage arising from access to, use or non-use of the published information, misuse of the connection or technical disruptions are excluded.

References and links

References and links to third-party websites are outside Nagra’s area of responsibility. Access to and use of such websites are at the user’s own risk. Nagra expressly declares that it has no influence whatsoever on the design, content or offers of linked pages. Information and services provided by linked websites are entirely the responsibility of the respective third party.

Any responsibility for such websites is declined.

Copyright

The information contained on Nagra’s websites is made publicly available. Downloading or copying content, images, photographs or other files does not transfer any rights relating to the content.

The copyright and all other rights relating to content, images, photographs or other files on Nagra’s websites belong exclusively to Nagra or the specifically named rights holders. Written consent from the copyright holders must be obtained in advance for the reproduction of any elements.

Privacy policy

1 General information

Your data is a matter of trust for us. It goes without saying that Nagra only collects personal data that is strictly necessary for the fulfilment of its tasks (data minimisation principle). Stored data is managed carefully and protected against any kind of misuse.

Based on Article 13 of the Swiss Federal Constitution and the federal data protection provisions, every person has the right to privacy and protection against misuse of their personal data. Nagra complies with these provisions on its websites and web services.

2 Scope of application

This privacy policy applies to all Nagra websites under the domain “nagra.ch” and to personal data collected through these websites. This privacy policy may be amended at any time without prior notice. The privacy notices and policies of other providers apply to websites linked from Nagra’s websites.

3 References

Nagra has no influence over external websites to which it refers, nor over external websites referring to Nagra’s services. Therefore, Nagra cannot guarantee that the information contained therein is correct or that such websites are free from malware (such as viruses). Information and services from linked websites or web services are entirely the responsibility of the respective third party. Any responsibility for such websites or web services is declined.

4 What happens to your data?

a) Retention and deletion

The processing of personal data on Nagra’s websites is limited to data required to provide a functional website as well as user-friendly content and services, or to data that you have actively provided to us.

The personal data collected by us is only retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the respective purpose. Legal requirements or other obligations may require longer retention periods.

b) Storage when completing a form

When you complete a form on our website (e.g. a contact form), we process the data you provide to us insofar as necessary to fulfil the purpose of the processing or complete the request.

As a rule, all information is voluntary. Mandatory fields are only marked as such where the information is required for the fulfilment of our legal duties or your request.

This data is deleted no later than upon expiry of the statutory retention period.

c) Storage for newsletter distribution

When you subscribe to a newsletter, the following data is collected: e-mail address (mandatory); optionally salutation, first name and surname.

Your personal data relating to subscribed newsletters is deleted immediately once you are no longer subscribed.

d) Storage for web analysis purposes

When accessing Nagra’s websites and web services, the following data is stored in log files: IP address, date, time, browser request and transmitted information relating to the device used, including operating system and browser.

This data is analysed using web analytics tools (see below). Nagra thereby aims to continuously improve its communication.

Tracking with fusedeck

This website integrates the fusedeck tracking solution provided by Capture Media AG (hereinafter “Capture Media”). Capture Media is a Swiss company based in Zurich that measures the use of this website on behalf of clients within the framework of engagements and events.

Tracking is carried out anonymously so that no connection can be made to specific or identifiable individuals.

Further information about data protection and the rights of affected persons in connection with fusedeck, including the “opt-out” option, can be found in the privacy policy and objection notice.

Use of Google Analytics

The Google Analytics web analysis service of Google LLC is used on our website drbg.ch. This service provides us with statistical information, for example regarding the language used, country of origin or access source. This information helps us better understand user behaviour and derive data-based optimisations for our website.

To generate web statistics, Google places cookies on your device. The information collected in this way is transferred to and stored on Google servers in the United States.

We have disabled all demographic analyses (e.g. age, gender, interests, behaviour), meaning that no user profiles are created. In addition, IP addresses are anonymised and not combined with other Google data.

e) Cookies

Cookies are used on various pages of Nagra’s websites to make visits more attractive and enable the use of certain functions.

These are small text files stored on your computer. Most of the cookies used are deleted from your hard drive at the end of the browser session (session cookies). Other cookies remain on your computer and enable us to recognise you during your next visit (persistent cookies).

You can prevent the storage of cookies in your browser by restricting or disabling the storage and reading of cookies. Please note that certain website functions may not be available without cookies.

f) Social networks and other third-party services

Nagra manages various accounts and profiles on social networks (including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) as well as its own YouTube channels. These pages and services are offered and operated by third parties. Each of these platforms has its own data protection provisions.

In addition, certain third-party services such as YouTube, Twitter, Google Maps, Google Ads and Instagram are directly integrated into individual Nagra webpages. These providers also use cookies.

When using Nagra’s websites, certain user data is automatically transmitted to these companies. The privacy policies of the respective providers expressly apply.

Users should be aware that these services may collect data and pass it on to third parties. If users simultaneously use an account of one of these services, the operator may directly associate the transmitted information with the corresponding personal account.

Nagra has no influence over the collection of data or its further use by these operators. Nagra is not aware of the extent, location and duration of data storage, the extent to which deletion obligations are fulfilled, what analyses and links are made with the data, or to whom the data is disclosed.

5 Your rights

You have the right to request information free of charge at any time regarding the processing of your personal data by Nagra. Please contact the office listed in the legal notice.

Further rights, such as the right to deletion, correction, restriction of processing and data portability, exist within the legally prescribed framework.

The collection of data required for the provision of the website and the storage of data in log files are absolutely necessary for the operation of our website. Users therefore have no right to object in this respect.

6 Data security

Nagra applies appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorised access by third parties. Nagra’s security measures correspond to the current state of technology.

7 Operation

The web servers required for the operation of the websites are generally technically operated by external partners. The same data protection requirements apply as for internally operated applications.
