Radioactive waste: Provisional planning perimeters for deep geological disposal fixed

In the ongoing site selection process for deep geological repositories for radioactive waste, the Federal Government has now fixed the so-called planning perimeters. These delineate the area in which the surface installations and facilities of the repositories could be constructed. Local communities that lie within the provisional planning perimeters will be involved in regional participation processes, which are currently being drawn up by working groups. Representatives of neighbouring German communities will also be able to participate in these working groups in the future.
