Radioactive waste

We consume raw materials and energy in our daily lives.

This produces gaseous, liquid and solid wastes. Some of this waste can be recycled and the remainder has to be disposed of safely. Respect for nature and living beings demands that we find and implement sustainable waste management solutions that ensure the long-term protection of humans and the environment.

Radioactive wastes have to be managed safely and isolated from our living environment for as long as they remain harmful. Carefully implemented procedures and proper practices ensure that no adverse effects on human health will result.
